Services

Six areas of studio and production planning, from the first floor plan to the written procedures a crew uses every day. Each can be commissioned on its own or combined.

Services

Six areas of studio planning

  • Studio Design Consultancy

Floor plans, sightlines and acoustic zoning for new or refurbished television studios. We work out where cameras, sets and talent sit before anything is ordered or built, so the room works as drawn.

  • Camera Control Systems

Planning of camera shading, remote heads and control room layouts for multi-camera productions. We map signal paths and operator positions so shading and switching stay calm during a live show.

  • Lighting Design

Lighting grids, fixture selection and control programming for studios and live events. We plan the rig around the cameras and the set, then document patching and cues so the show can be rebuilt.

  • Sound and Audio Workflow

Microphone plans, mixing desk routing and monitoring set-ups for broadcast and live audio. Routing is drawn and labelled so engineers can trace any source from stage to output without guessing.

  • Live Event Production Planning

Technical run sheets, signal flow diagrams and crew plans for live broadcasts. Everyone on the production works from the same plan, from the first rigging call to the final line check.

  • Workflow Documentation and Training

Written procedures and hands-on sessions that help crews work consistently from show to show. Documents are written with the people who use them, in plain language and in the order of the working day.

In detail

Studio Design Consultancy, step by step

  1. Brief and site survey

We review your programme formats, crew size and the building itself, including ceiling height, access and power. This fixes what the room has to do before any drawing begins.

  2. Floor plan and sightlines

Camera positions, set areas and talent marks are drawn to scale, with sightlines checked from each camera and from the control room. Alternatives are shown side by side so choices are clear.

  3. Acoustic zoning

We separate noisy and quiet areas, place the control room and machine space sensibly, and note where treatment is needed. Specialist acoustic measurement can be added where the building calls for it.

  4. Issued drawings and notes

You receive dimensioned plans and a short written rationale your contractors and installers can work from. Revisions are tracked so everyone holds the current version.

How we work

From first enquiry to a plan your crew can use

Every engagement follows the same order, whatever the service. We establish the facts, agree the scope in writing, design, check the design with the people who will use it, and hand over documents that stay useful after we leave. Nothing is rushed past a decision point.

  1. Enquiry and first conversation

You contact us through the contact page and describe the studio, show or workflow involved. We ask about formats, crew, constraints and what is not working today, so the scope rests on facts rather than assumptions.

What you leave withA shared understanding of the problem and which services apply

  2. Written quotation

We set out the work, what the price includes and what could change it, in a written quotation. Work begins once you confirm it in writing, so both sides know what has been agreed.

What you leave withA written quotation and your written confirmation

  3. Survey and design

We visit where useful, gather drawings and equipment lists, and prepare the plans, signal diagrams or procedures. Drafts are shared early so wrong assumptions are caught while they are cheap to correct.

What you leave withDraft plans or procedures ready for your comments

  4. Review with your crew

We go through the drafts with the engineers, operators and managers who will rely on them. Their corrections are built in, because they know where a layout or routing will cause trouble.

What you leave withA revised set of documents reflecting crew feedback

  5. Handover and invoice

Final documents are issued in editable and printable form, and we explain how to keep them current. We then send an invoice, payable by bank transfer, following the payment and refund policy.

What you leave withFinal documents, a handover conversation and an invoice
