Practical answers on scope, ordering, payment and what to prepare before you contact us.
Frequently asked questions
Below are the questions we hear most often before an engagement begins. If yours is not covered, send it through the contact page and we will answer directly.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
We plan and document broadcast studios, camera control, lighting and sound for television networks and live events. That covers new builds, refurbishments and one-off live productions. We also write procedures and run training sessions. If a project falls outside these areas, we will say so plainly rather than stretch to fit.
Do you install the equipment?
Our work is consultancy, design and documentation. We produce plans, diagrams and procedures that your own engineers or chosen contractors use for installation. We can review the work against our drawings if that is agreed in the quotation, but the installation itself is not part of our service.
How do I place an order?
Nothing is bought through the website. You send an enquiry through the contact page, we discuss the scope, and we issue a written quotation. Work begins once you confirm that quotation in writing. After handover we send an invoice, which is paid by bank transfer.
How are your prices set?
Prices depend on the service, the size of the studio or production and how much existing documentation we can build on. Each quotation states what the price includes and what could change it, such as extra site visits or additional revisions. The prices page gives the current figures.
Can I commission only one service?
Yes. Each of the six services can be ordered on its own, for example lighting design without studio layout. Many clients combine them because the plans depend on each other, but nothing obliges you to. We will tell you if a single service leaves a gap.
What should I prepare before contacting you?
Useful items include existing drawings, an equipment list, the formats you produce and the size of your crew. A short note on what is not working today helps most. If you have none of this, contact us anyway and we will work out together what needs gathering.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Cancellations and refunds follow the payment and refund policy, which sets out what applies at each stage. In general, work completed before cancellation is invoiced, and anything not yet started is not. The quotation refers you to the policy, so the terms are known before you confirm.
Do you work outside Wales?
We are based in Swansea and work with clients across the United Kingdom. Much of the design work can be done remotely from drawings and calls, with site visits where they are useful. Travel arrangements are discussed and stated in the quotation before anything is confirmed.
